Fourth Grade analyzed various works from the Abstract Expressionist movement, and discussed how the use of color, texture and media evoke certain emotions in the viewer. Students used their personal narratives as inspiration to create their own abstract expressionist works.

Henri Matisse Visits Kindergarten
Kindergarten students took the Art History Time Machine back to 1949 to visit Henri Matisse in his studio. Aligned with their study of geometric versus organic shapes, students were inspired by his cut-outs to create organic shape collages of their own.
